The Sen sisters are full of praises for each other

The Sen sisters have always been admired in Bollywood, for different reasons though. The elder one, Riya Sen, is known for her glamorous and sexy image, where as the younger sis, Raima Sen is known for some very serious and challenging performances. Now, the two sisters are coming together for the first time in Rituparno Ghosh’s ‘Noukadubi’ and both will be playing roles which are apparently just the opposite of their images. Where Riya plays a de-glam village housewife, Raima will be playing a sophisticated woman.
Insiders say that initially Riya felt that Raima’s character had greater strength, prominence, and scope as compared to hers, but then she went ahead as her role was challenging too.
Both the sisters are full of praises and admiration for each other. Speaking about her experience of working with Riya, Raima said, “It was nice to watch her do such a complex character. She was so easy and comfortable on the sets and with the director. Everyone pampered her silly! This is the first time I’ve played such a mature character in Rituda’s film. I play the character of a learned and sophisticated woman who holds her own in any situation. It’s quite a contrast from Riya’s character who plays a naïve village belle.”
Riya stated, “Raima pampered me silly on the sets. Right from organizing the best make up vans and acquainting me with the staff in Kolkata, she was always a phone call away and kept everything prepared for me! Sometimes I felt I was treated like a baby, it felt like my first film.”

Beware girls! Shahid Kapoor gets dangerous this season!

With ‘Kaminey’ about to hit the screens, Shahid Kapoor seems to be everywhere at the moment. Also the dangerous and negative look that he portrays in this film has given an all new push to his career because all those who have seen promos of this film have liked the new image of this chocolate boy.
However, this dangerously handsome boy seems to be quite down to eart when it comes to showing respect and adoration to others and this incident proves so. Shahid recently organised a sudden press meet for ‘Kaminey’ in his vanity van. As the journalists poured in large numbers, there was hardly any place left in the van. There was a chair reserved inside the van for Shahid in advance, but Shahid, seeing the scarcity of space, offered his chair to an elderly journalist and himself sat on the floor instead. He even requested other young people to offer their chairs to the elders and sit on the floor.
Now, this handsome hunk with commendable mannerisms comes with a dangerous tag on the covers of ‘Filmfare’ this month. Check out dangerous Shahid oozing loads of appeal on the glossy covers of ‘Filmfare’!!

Aamir to play the lead in wife's directorial debut

Superstar Aamir Khan has finally let the cat out of the bag. The actor has confirmed that he is playing the lead in wife Kiran Rao's directorial debut 'Dhobi Ghaat'.

The superstar who had till now maintained silence about his involvement in the project, will be playing a full fledged role along with Smita Patil's son Pratiek Babbar, who had made an impressed debut in Aamir Khan's production 'Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa'.
"...the cat is finally out of the bag. I am playing one of the leads in Kiran's film Dhobi Ghaat. The reason we kept this under wraps is that she didn't want to attract much attention towards her film. She wanted to make this film on real locations with a tiny crew, very guerilla style." The actor wrote in his blog.
Known as 'Mr Perfectionist' in Bollywood, the actor is delighted to have dodged the media for once.
"We had to do it very quietly. And for once we managed to keep a secret from the media, at least until we finished the shoot," Aamir said.
Aamir's last release was blockbuster revenge drama 'Ghajini'. The actor is also working on 'Munnabhai' director Raj Kumar Hirani's 'Three Idiots', which is an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel 'Five Point Someone'.
"Principal photography on 3 Idiots is complete! We have one song left which Raju wants to shoot in September.
He began work on the post in full swing. Good God I'm getting butterflies in my stomach already. But this time I will not smoke. No matter how nervous I get," Khan wrote
The actor who recently shared the stage with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her visit to India, is quite amused with the comments that his choice of outfit attracted.
Khan had dressed casually in light blue jeans, a white T-shirt and a black jacket for the high profile meeting.
"I see there has been quite a discussion on what I wore to my event with Secretary Clinton. Actually I didn’t think much about it. I don't usually give much importance to what I am wearing, so I'll stay away from that discussion.
"But what I would like to say is that it was a real pleasure to meet with her. I found her to be an extremely warm and charming person. And she has such sharp and clear thinking, and expresses herself so well. Quite a privilege to meet with her," he added.

Swimming with sharks? Not a problem for Imran!

Imran Khan is every bit the sweet boy-next door he essayed in his debut film Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na. At his sprawling home, a charming bungalow in Pali Hill, he is saying his goodbyes to perhaps his youngest fan — a friend’s two-year-old who lisps “I love you, Imu.” It would therefore not be incorrect to say that women, across age-groups, take to him easily. So far, so good. Khan now has to wait and watch if his popularity, among other things will swing the fate of his movie Luck, releasing this weekend. An adventure story, the film has a ‘bunch of people come together to try their luck’ is how Khan describes it. Directed by Soham Shah, it is among the season’s big releases.
“Soham is not the best with narration but when I read the script, I really liked it,” says the young actor. Luck is his first film this year. He matches acting skills with Shruti Haasan (a friend from school) and an ensemble cast that includes Mithun Chakraborty, Ravi Kissan, Chitrashi Rawat, Danny Denzongpa and Sanjay Dutt. Here, the actor details his adventures and experiences in showbiz.

Shipa Shetty gets Rekha to launch spa

Shilpa Shetty has roped in none other than evergreen diva Rekha to launch her first spa as she believes that the actress is the epitome of "timeless beauty and wellness".
Shetty is planning a grand launch for her Medispa 'Iosis' in Khar on Sunday and is "ecstatic" that the "one and only" Rekha will be inaugurating her maiden venture.
"I had to think of who was going to do the grand launch and couldn’t come up with a better name than the diva herself, someone who is synonymous with timeless beauty and wellness.
"So I approached (the one and only) Rekhaji. I’ve always looked up to her as an actor, as a role model for constant reinvention," the actress said about Rekha who is famed for being a recluse.
The Bollywood beauty revealed that she has a special bond with the yesteryear's superstar because of their common South-Indian origin.
"We share a very special bond and have always been in touch with each other. I think it’s the South Indian connection. When I asked her to grace the occasion, she agreed and I was ecstatic," Shetty said.

Dev, Frieda trying their best to remain ‘undercover couple’

''Slumdog Millionaire'' couple Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto recently played hide and seek with paparazzi in New York to avoid getting photographed together.

Following a romantic dinner in a New York restaurant, the stars left for their hotel but when the pair spotted waiting photographers, Dev made a comic run away, reports the New York Daily News.

Seeing the funny side of it, Dev began laughing while making his dash, and Freida, 25, also appeared to be amused as they out-foxed the snappers and giggled away.

Rumours of the co-stars'' real-life relationship began swirling back in February and were confirmed by their co-star Anil Kapoor, who said, "When I meet them, I feel there is something happening," adding that the pair shared "a magical chemistry."

Saif:Deepika & I suit each other

After constantly whining that why his lady love Kareena wasn’t by his side in Love Aaj Kal, Saif is finally talking pleasantly about his on-screen chemistry with Deepika.
Saif says, “We make a good pair.Though we don’t know each other so well, on screen Deepika and I suit each other a lot.”
“I think all credit for that should go to Imtiaz Ali. Because on-screen chemistry isn’t something you can organise. It comes out of the script and from the situations, which is a director’s job.”

Kareena:I tend to get upset & depressed

Kareena Kapoor has confessed that she feels depressed when people make bad remarks about her acting

She says,”I have realised over a period of time that the higher you go, more and more people will try to pull you down. I used to hear about this from my sister (Karishma) but am experiencing this first hand now. It isn’t really funny actually.”

“Well, the movie has released, done well and it’s time to move on to newer things. Critics had things to say about the film and it’s okay if they didn’t like the film. In any case, audiences had their own take on the film and they made the film a success. It’s all balanced out at the end of the day.”

Come on, it was just a movie. We were not developing any rocket science there. However, I guess some people did take it all personally and equated ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ to World War III.”

Sequel to Jab We Met

Director Imtiaz Ali is toying with the idea to make a sequel to his romantic flick Jab We Met with the original co-stars Shahid and Kareena.
Imtiaz says, “It`s an idea, yes. What happens to the two characters Geet and Aditya after they`ve met and gone through all those adventures? What happens to them after the story ends in Jab We Met? I`m asked that question so often that even I`ve started wondering about the future of Geet`s relationship with Aditya after we left them.”
Talking about the story Imtiaz says, “I don`t see a very pleasant togetherness for Geet and Aditya. They`re two such strong-headed individuals, there`s bound to be friction. Maybe Geet will go back to Anshuman (the guy who dumps her). There`s certainly an element of curiosity for me about where these characters go.”
Imtiaz doesn’t find it a problem to bring together Shahid-Kareena together for the movie.

Kabir Khan caught in a jungle rebellion

When New York director Kabir Khan left with his two young children to join his wife, Mini Mathur, in the Malaysian jungles, little did he know what was in store for them."I took my kids to join their mom who's the anchor on the reality show 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao' because my kids love the outdoors and are very adventurous. But I think the whole thing got a bit too adventurous for all of us." On Tuesday, just when Kabir was preparing to leave the jungles with the children, rebellion broke out among the contestants. And for a while Kabir's wife Mini was traceless. "My kids and I were not in the jungles with the contestants and my wife. We were staying on an island 15 minutes away. On Tuesday, when we prepared to join Mini in the jungles, we were told the boats had stopped plying between our resort and the jetty to the jungle. No one could tell us why." Kabir was in a state of panic. "We had no information about what was happening on the island. All kinds of conflicting reports were coming in. My wife's cell phone didn't work in the jungle. For a while it was all very confusing and scary." Only later did Kabir get to know that his wife was safe. Chaos prevailed on the location of 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao' when 7 of the contestants decided to suddenly leave the show in protest against the cruel experiments that Akashdeep Saigal was subjected to. Only MTV Roadie Palak Kaur and Fiza (of Chand fame) decided to stay in the hope of sharing the prize money. After intense imploration the 7 rebellious contestants again returned to the show late on Tuesday night upon being assured they'd be served decent meals. Kabir thinks the contestants were justified in protesting. "I could see the conditions in the jungle were far more intense and nerve-wracking than they look on television. What I saw the participants doing in 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao' was far more grueling than their counterparts did in the original version of the show." Kabir thinks what he saw happening on location for the reality show was far more interesting than the show itself. And yes, he may do a script on the prevalence of reality shows and how they affect our lives. Though he was frightened for his wife, Kabir's kids had a ball. "My son Vivaan is 6 and my daughter Sairah is just 10 months old. Everyone who hears I took them to the Malaysian jungle on my own is aghast. But if I didn't, my wife would've killed me. Besides my kids are true adventurers. Sairah means a happy traveler. And she lived up to her name." The pertinent question at this moment is, what prompts people to take on the risk of losing lives limbs and dignity in these reality measures? And are the safety measures adequate? A spokesperson from Sony Entertainment says, "The contestants on 'Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao' were made to do nothing that was not done by their counterparts on the international version. The conditions in the jungle make the participants edgy and hyper. They freaked out when Akashdeep put his head into a jar with vermin, insects and snakes and came out all bitten and bruised. However, all safety measures are ensured. And none of the creatures are poisonous. The contestants have now returned to the location."
