At last, the confirmation has come. After appearing together for the premier of ‘Striker,' Siddharth and Shruti Haasan have made their affair much official. From what we hear is that Shruti introduced Siddharth to her parents, as they have become well aware of each other's liking. And too add into it, Shruti seems reasonably serious regarding Siddharth.



Siddharth boy has also become well acquainted in the family, as he has become friends with Shruti's sister as well.

We wonder what went wrong with Siddharth and Soha Ali? Even there were talks about the duo tying the knot.

Dubbing is painful for Katrina and Abhishek

While King Khan is busy dealing with the controversies relating to his latest movie ‘MNK', the rest of Bollywood is busy dubbing for the films. And the stars are having some really painful time dubbing for their upcoming films.



While Lara Dutta, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Arjun Rampal are busy dubbing with Sajid Khan, Abhishek Bachchan is busy in ‘Raavan' and Katrina in ‘Rajneeti.' Some are enjoying it, but for some others, it's a pain.



Lara Dutta says, “Heading back where I belong - in the dubbing studio! Second half of ‘Housefull' today! All Gujrati dialogues done!” According to her co-stars, she did great job in dubbing, particularly in the Gujrati dialogues.

“Going good today. Had a lot of fun yesterday with the maddest man our director, Sajid K. He should be in a straight jacket,” says Arjun Rampal.

“Ah! Dub done with till tomorrow. ‘Raavan' is proving to be the toughest dub I've ever done,” tells Abhishek.

But Katrina Kaif is facing problems with dubbing for ‘Rajneeti,' as Kat is not too good with Hindi, she is required to spell every word clearly. And apparently, she yelled, “I have to labour over every word. It's just sapping the hell out of me.”

My Name Is Khan seems to be the clear winner this Friday

Feb 11, 2010: It goes without saying that ‘My Name Is Khan’ seems to be an undisputable winner this time. Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial debut ‘Ishqiya’ is definitely ruling the roost but MNIK will definitely shake its position. Other than these two movies, ‘3 Idiots’ is still celebrating its much-deserved success. ‘Rann’ and ‘Veer’ are trying their best by riding on the shoulders of Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan respectively where ‘Striker’ released last week has sunk without a trace.

Nonetheless, let’s take a sneak-peek at this week’s other releases other than MNIK, which is creating waves all over. But first MNIK definitely deserves a mention.

My Name Is Khan: My Name Is Khan will have the widest release ever for a Bollywood film in the international markets. The biggest pull of MNIK is the comeback of Bollywood’s most sought after and celebrated on-screen couple SRK-Kajol. What does a movie need- an amazing storyteller Karan Johar and ultra-stupendous pairing of SRK-Kajol is more than enough for cine-goers to enjoy larger than life entertainment.

Pyaar Kaa Fundaa: Clearly a film that seems to be a forthcoming debacle. With no big stars to boast off and no known names, the film has taken a hit even before the release. With names like Yugbodh Garewal, Surbhi Shukla who are in the lead roles under the direction of?Monazir Hasan, the entire cast might have as well come from Timbuktu, as none of them ring a bell. Now the question remains will Shakti Kapoor, Kiran Kumar and Reema Lagoo make any difference. Alas! We don’t think so, as poor promotions have added to the disdain. Nonetheless, let the makers try their luck.

Sukhmani: Boasts of veterans Gurdas Mann, Juhi Chawla, Divya Dutta and Anoop Soni, which are likely to attract the cine-goers. Sukhmani has a fair chance but again poor promotions have left the movie in a not very comfortable position. Strong word of mouth publicity if the movie is good may prove fruitful.

Overall, the chances of MNIK are strong as the Shiv Sena controversy is giving it a strong recall value apart from the big banner and bigger star cast. Looks like this week the major slice of box-office would definitely go to ‘My Name Is Khan’.

Bachchan Bahu to make her debut on Small Screen

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is going to make her debut on television. Aishwarya is very busy with shoots of her upcoming movies, but if things go well, she will be hosting a show on national television. It is going to be a chat show and the remaining logistics are yet to be discussed. The debut of this beautiful actress is part of a family deal. According to a source, “right from the time they signed Amitabh Bachchan for Bigg Boss, the channel had decided to have Abhishek and Aishwarya as well.”

Aishwarya was unavailable for comment, her spokesperson denied any such news. However, the channel’s spokesperson said, “no comments.”

Raju Hirani refuses to edit Rakesh Roshan’s Kites

Rakesh Roshan’s next movie Kites was scheduled for a release on May 21, but apparently it is facing many problems. According to a source, “this film is Rakesh’s most ambitious project with two versions. The international version, as is common knowledge now, is being edited by Hollywood’s Brett Ratner because Rakesh feels Ratner’s sensibilities will make it suitable for an international palate.”

Rakesh Roshan approaches Raju Hirani for editing the desi version. However, Raj Kumar Hirani declined this offer. Raju turned this offer down because he had prior commitments to travel to Los Angeles, to finalize the script for Ferrari ki Sawari and Munnabhai Chale Amerika.

Katrina hops into Auto rickshaw

Taking a leaf out of Salman Khan’s book, Katrina Kaif recently hopped into a auto rickshaw to evade a mob after she emerged froma suburban multiplex where she went to watch Ishqiya.

A source says, “Dressed in jeans and a tee, Katrina was accompanied by her manager and bodyguards. She had come to catch Ishqiya. After the show, at around 10.30 pm, she came out and was trying to call her driver to get the car. Being a weekend there was a lot of traffic.”

“Even after trying several times, Katrina was unable to get through to the driver. Apparently he had parked her SUV in the basement and there was a problem with the network connectivity. By this time, people recognised her and a crowd started gathering. Thinking quickly, Katrina made her way to the road and hailed a rickshaw. She got into one with her manager while her bodyguards got into another and followed her.”

A friend of Katrina confirmed the news, “Katrina couldn’t wait for the car any longer because people were starting to mob her. But she completely loved the rickshaw ride back home to Bandra from Andheri.”

Seems like Salman has taught Katrina enough tricks and tactics to survive Bollywood and celebritydom.

Shahid-Deepika in love?

Rumors are rife that Bollywood hotties who recently broke off from their respective partners, i.e Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor are dating each other. While Shahid called an end to his relationship with Priyanka, Deepika’s love life was abruptly ended by Ranbir Kapoor.

Apparently the awesome twosome are hanging out together and also visit each other at their respective homes.

A source says, Shahid’s car was parked outside Deepika’s Bandra residence a few days ago.”

Another source says, “Shahid and Deepika – both are quite headstrong and have moved on from their failed relationships. They are only concentrating on their career at the moment. They want to have a strong foothold in the industry and think alike, which is the main reason why they have clicked together.”

Buzz is also rife that the two will soon be doing a movie together, the source adds, One of Shahid’s close friend is trying to work on the project. Deepika and Shahid are vaguely aware of the project and are definitely keen on working together since both of them are in-demand. Deepika and Shahid have met each other several times in the past but they really started bonding after a recent award function. Both the actors also have common professional interests. Also, let’s not forget that they are single.”

SRK kids win gold at Taekwondo Championship

SRK and Gauri Khan’s kids Aryan and Suhana both participated in the recently held Maharashtra Taekwondoh competition and both won gold medals making their parents proud.

SRK who attended the event, tweeted about his kids wins and wrote, “yippee.both the son & daughter won gold medals at tae kwon doh championships.suhana was all grit. aryan all technique. i was a nervous wreck”

SRK also added, “love gold especially when the kids earn it.”

Katrina,Saif and Harman at Waves NGO meet

Recently Bollywood starlets Kareena KApoor, Saif Ali Khan and Hurman Baweja came together for Pearls Wave NGO meet. The trio supported the cause of the NGO which aims at highlighting the violence against women in India and putting an end to it.

Katrina Kaif who was present at the press meet said, “My mom is always involved with women charity. Today I am very happy to help this cause and will give something back to the society. Across the country we have NGOs and people who are willing to help those affected by violence and difficulties in their lives. It is our responsibility to make women aware of these facilities and tell them how to use it to fight abuse.”

Saif added, “Actors as role models, having responsibility towards society and should lend their support to causes like violence against women. We need to make people aware about it, if public opinion can be affected with our association we can contribute to it.”

Hurman also voiced his opinion saying, It’s a brave effort from the organization, equally important for men to understand and support the cause. There are organizations across the country working to spread this message, and together, it is our responsibility to spread the word against violence. It is our responsibility to stand up for women against violence. Don’t forget Men are only stronger in strength and women are in many other ways.”

The initiative is also supported by other Bollywood stars like Priyanka Chopra, Shahid Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Abhay Deol, Karan Johar and others.

Shah Rukh Khan apologizes

SRK reached Mumbai today amidst tight security and Shiv Sena was expecting an apology from SRK, however SRK did apologize, but only to Karan and Kajol.

SRK said, I am really sorry. would like to apologize to Kajol, Karan Johar and our business partners. The film is going to be affected because of what I said. ‘My Name Is Khan,’ is not my film alone. It has Kajol, Karan ( Johar) and 150 other people whose livelihood depends upon it.”

He further added, “I have done nothing wrong in saying what I did about the Pakistani players, and I said that as an Indian.If Bal Thackeray will call me, I will meet him anytime. I enjoy his company.”

Meanwhile SRK who is a son of a freedom fighter, was branded as traitor by Shiv Sena.

Party chief Bal Thackerey said, “Shahrukh is a traitor and he has insulted sentiments of Indians by favouring Pakistan players.”

However Shiv Sena has decided not disrupt MNIK screening, they said, “How do we awaken this Congress party? This is how you rule. So go ahead. Let Shah Rukh Khan show his film My Name Is Khan without security. Traitors with the blessings of the Congress go ahead, the Shiv Sena will not block you.”

Good that Shiv Sena has decided against disrupting the screening of the movie.

Salman: No need to apologize SRK

Old friend of Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan has come out to support SRK in the ongoing Shiv Sena controversial issue.

SRK who was targetted by Shiv Sena for supporting Pakistani cricketers to take part in IPL, the Shiv Sena has asked SRK to apologize for his remarks or else they will disrupt the screening of his flick My Name is Khan.

However good old friend Salman Khan has stood up for SRK and feels that he doesn’t need to apologize to Shiv Sena, Salman said, “Shah Rukh doesn`t owe an apology to Shiv Sena”.

Salman further adds, “What should he apologize for? ‘My Name is Khan’ should be released for sure. It has to. As an industry we pay huge entertainment tax to the government and we entertain the people also. We don’t think like politicians.I anyway don’t understand this whole thing of taking a morcha and going to somebody’s house,”

“I think what Shah Rukh said was that the Pakistani players should have been included in the IPL. If I’m not mistaken even our Home Minister P Chidambaram said the same thing. Sports and politics are two different things. In cricket, the only thing you hit is a ball. A sporting field is all about sportsmanship, sports is such a wonderful leveler that both winners and losers shake hands in the beginning as well as at the end of the match.”

Earlier Abhishek Bachchan also tweeted in support of SRK.

Katrina Kaif was awarded with excellence in cinema award in Delhi and she utilized her time to dance and perform at the sangeet ceremony of Radhika Singhl and Saurabh Doot.

While few days ago Katrina said that she is very conservative and will refrain from wearing bikini and smooching onscreen, she danced enthusiastically and did a sexy dance routine with the groom Saurabh, which went down well with the crowd, including bride Radhika.

Katrina says no to kissing and bikini

After showing almost all of her boobs to Gulshan Grover in her debut flick Boom, Katrina has realized how Bollywood works and will never do kissing scenes in movies and neither will she wear a bikini.

A friend of Katrina says, “Katrina has said no to kissing scenes in all her films barring New York. And believe me, the directors are very keen to see her kiss her co-stars. Katrina cleverly keeps dodging all the so-called must-kiss scenes. She is a very conservative girl at heart. In fact, when reports claimed that she was going to wear a bikini in Dostana 2, a la Priyanka Chopra in the first Dostana, Katrina protested violently and made it clear to producer Karan Johar and director Tarun Mansukhani: no exposure, no kissing.”

Katrina talking about her controversial scenes in her debut flick Boom, says, “I don’t deny I’ve done scenes in the past where I did things that I wasn’t comfortable with. But now I won’t. I just don’t feel comfortable doing kissing scenes, or for that matter, wearing a bikini on screen.”

Katrina also did not kiss Ranbir in Rajneeti even as the director tried to convince her, confirming this, KAtrina says, , “It’s true. I’m not at all comfortable doing kissing scenes. Call me a prude or conservative. I just don’t feel kissing scenes jell well with our audiences. So no kissing scenes for me.”

Katrina is currently filming for Rajneeti opposite Ranbir KApoor where she is portraying the character of Sonia Gandhi.

Saif: I too deserve Padma Shri

Saif said, “If you look at the awardees over the last couple of years, all of them have not exactly invented a nuclear bomb.”

SRK: I won’t say sorry to Shiv Sena

SRK who is currently in US is clearly upset with the reaction of Shiv Sena against him for supporting Pakistani cricketers inclusion in IPL.

SRK says, It makes me feel that activities like this are unhealthy, undemocratic, its insensitive but this is the world is and you can only say what you believe in and stand by it and hopefully I will have the strength to do so.”

Shiv Sena leader, Manohar Joshi said, “Whether it’s Shah Rukh or anyone else, the Shiv Sena says he must take back his comments, so he’ll have to do it. It’s better if he understands this well. Shah Rukh Khan will have to apologise or else we will not let his film release in Mumbai.”

Prabhu Deva, Nayantara to dance together?

controversial pair -- Prabhu Deva and Nayantara -- rumoured to have tied the knot at Tirupathi last year, is going to be the talk of the town once again! If these reports are to be believed, Prabhu Deva and Nayantara will dance together during a function to be held to felicitate Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on his birthday: February 6.

A source confirmed that the two have consented to combine their talent on stage for this peppy dance number, details of which are being kept top secret! The grand birthday celebration will also feature live hip-hop performances by stars and dancers.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that South India’s most-sought-after heroine Nayantara is like to take a temporary holiday from films due to her back-to-back failures in the last two years. The actress, who has been doing films in Tamil and Telugu, has acted with all the top heroes, but has not given even one credible performance over a long period.

Father-son clash at the box-office

Telugu action hero Nagarjuna's Kedi, directed by Kiran and produced by D. Sivaprasad Reddy under the banner of Kamakshi Kala Movies, will grace theatres on February 14. Mamta Mohandas is paired opposite Nagarjuna in the film.

According to the actor, his character has many shades. Thus, he is more than a Kedi, and not limited to being one. The makers say it is the screenplay that is going to be its USP. Added to Nagarjuna in a never-seen-before role, artistes Ankur of Slum Dog Millionaire fame, Linda of 'Ringa Ringa' and Arya 2 fame also have important roles in the movie. Music is by Sandeep Chowtha. The star cast includes Nirmal Pandey, Akhilendra Mishra, Sayaji Shinde and Tanikella Barani.

Meanwhile, son Naga Chaitanya's Yemaya Chesave directed by Gautam Menon will hit screens on February 19. This romantic musical starring Naga Chaitanya and newcomer Samantha revolves around the love between an aspiring film maker (who wants to make it big in his profession) and a Christian girl.

The film is simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. Music by A.R. Rahman is a major highlight of the movie. Yemaya Chesave is much praised for its breezy posters and Rahman's music.

So probably for the first time ever, Tollywood will witness the clash between a father and son at the box office. Well! We cannot wait anymore for this.

Oily bond: Preity Zinta teams up with Dhoni

Feb 3, 2010: Vivacious Preity Zinta is on a roll these days and is busy multi tasking. The pretty lady has turned into a superwoman as she finished off with the IPL meetings, zapped through the auctions and ran into an oily commercial shoot!

Well the news is quite recently, Preity shot a commercial for Emami brand where she stars along with none other than cricketer M S Dhoni. And with the looks of the shoot it seems like Dhoni and Preity have donned superman-like robes for the commercial they have shot.

Commenting on her shoot with Dhoni, Preity put up a message on a social networking site which reads, “We are shooting a commercial for Emami. Healthy and tasty cooking oil”. The sprightly beauty had a gala time shooting with the cricket star as she adds, “Shooting a real fun commercial I must confess.”



Well after all Bollywood and cricket is a heady combination then be it love affairs, IPL, films or advertisements. With the fit and famous cricketer Dhoni and beautiful Preity coming together to promote a cooking oil rumors of the two dating are sure to spark off along with the sales of this particular brand of oil. After all, publicity and sales walk hand in hand!

'Akshay and I are working free for Tees Maar Khan'

Farah Khan seems quite excited about her new directorial film, Tees Maar Khan. The director has her cast -- Akshay Kumar, Akshaye Khanna and Katrina Kaif -- in place, and the shooting is set to start on March 1.

She hopes to fix the release date at December 24 too, if 'Aamir Khan spares those dates for her.'

Tees Maar Khan has been written by her husband Shirish Kunder.

Farah talks to Nithya Ramani about the film, and also says that there is no bad blood between Shah Rukh Khan and her.

How did you decide on Katrina?

I wanted a new girl, someone like Katrina. I met her, and narrated the story to her. She asked me why I was looking for someone like Katrina when she herself was available. She's very apt for the role. She's the number one actress today. More importantly, she shares a great track record and chemistry with Akshay.

I had heard that I had approached Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor and Freida Pinto for the role but that is not true.

What about Akshay Kumar and Akshaye Khanna?

Well, Akshay Kumar was easy because the story was written keeping him in mind. Shirish wrote the script for Akshay. When you watch the film, you will see that he is perfect for the role.

Akshaye Khanna's role is not the title role but it is a fabulous one. I was initially apprehensive whether to approach him for a film where another actor was playing the lead. But Akshaye loved the script and realised that without his character, the film could not proceed. The character needed an actor of great comic timing. And who better than Akshaye Khanna?

She's visiting the city after four years, and Amrita Rao is happy about the changes in Bangalore, starting with the airport.

In the city to walk the ramp for designer friend Archana Kochar, Amrita says, “Of late, I’ve been doing these show-stopper acts.

These experiences are the fringe benefits of being an actress. I’m not professionally qualified to walk the ramp, forget being a show-stopper. But it’s an honour.”

Off the ramp, does the glam look work for her? “Inherently, an artiste is supposed to be versatile.
